Trouble accessing Panopto content

User trying to view a Panopto video sees a black screen and is unable to view it upon trying to sign in.

Issue/Question:

When trying to watch Panopto videos, students and faculty may see a black screen with a “Click to Sign in and Play Video”. If they are on an Apple computer using Safari as their internet browser, clicking this button will not work.

Answer:

The recommended Internet browsers for doing course work in Canvas are Google Chrome and Firefox. It is a good idea to have both available as a backup. To install the browsers, follow the links:

 Chrome [https://www.google.com/chrome/]
 Firefox [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/
 
If the video continues to be blocked when using Chrome or Firefox, you should check the privacy settings and make sure you are allowing cookies and cross-site traffic from Canvas and Panopto
