Summary
This article will provide detailed instructions to install and configure the University 3CX mobile softphone client. This client, once configured will behave like your office phone. Calls made to your on-campus extension will also ring in this mobile app.

You will receive a welcome email from fsu-voice@framingham.edu containing a QR Code if you wish to use 3CX on your iPhone or Android.
- On your mobile phone, download the 3CX app from your apps store or by clicking here à Android or iOS (iOS 10.0 or newer).
- Accept the defaults (allow camera for scanning QR, microphone, etc.)
- Scan QR code from the email. If it does not scan, turn-off WiFi and try again. If you do not have access to view the QR code, you can click on the attached “3cxProv configuration file” in the welcome email.
- You should see a green square in the upper right corner of the 3CX app. This shows you are connected and your status is available.
- Update your personal voice mail greeting.
- All calls from FSU will ring through this app.
- You will see the FSU extension number for on-campus calls
- You will see 10 digit caller-id for off-campus calls
- Calling out
- Dial 4 digit FSU extension for on-campus calls
- Dial 1+area code+number for off-campus calls
*Legacy 8 1+area code+number will continue to work for the foreseeable future
- Off-campus calls will display the FSU main number as your caller-id, 508-620-1220
- Emergency /911 Calls
- On-campus dial 911 or 4911 from your desk phone or the 3CX app
- Calls are routed to the FSU-PD
- If you are using a mobile device, please give your location to the FSU-PD dispatcher
- If you dial in error, do not hang-up, wait for the FSU-PD dispatcher to answer
- Off-campus “DO NOT USE THE 3CX APP FOR 911 EMERGENCIES”
- Calls are routed to the FSU-PD, not your local police
- By loading this app you confirm you read and agree to the 911 information
