Receipt and Distribution of End Point Devices
All computer desktops, laptops, and other mobile devices should be processed through the ITS department of Framingham State University before distribution to individual department.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Director of IT Service Management is the Service Owner of IT Asset Management. The Manager of Technical Support Operation is the Process Owner.

- Print new ITS label (if under $1,000)
- Enter into CMDB
- Open new request to deliver

Steps
- Equipment delivered to ITS from storeroom (Manager)
- Received machine from shipping and receiving
- Print new ITS label (if under $1,000)
- Enter into CMDB
- Assign technicians names for replacements
- Tickets are open for replacements (User Services Technician)
- Open new ticket in TDX under the Service Computer Replacement
- Using MS Bookings in description for faculty/staff to schedule their replacement
- Equipment to be imaged (User Services Technician)
- Use KACE for Windows
- University standard software loaded for Mac and add KACE
- Add any additional software as needed (Druva for full time employees)
- Distribute equipment (User Services Technician)
- Laptop – user comes to the TRC to pick up equipment and complete all forms
- Mobile Device- user comes to TRC to pick up equipment and complete all forms
- Desktop- Technician delivers equipment to final location.
- Resolve TDX record and add any paperwork
