Body
Starting Fall 2025, FSU's new Bookstore, eCampus will use the Vitalsource LTI to deliver digital course materials for courses enrolled in the Inclusive Access program. A link to the materials for students will automatically be added to your Canvas course about 1 week before classes start - it will be a Canvas module with one item in it, a link titled "Course Materials by eCampus". But what if you don't want to wait for that?
When would you use this?
When you want to view your Inclusive Access course materials in your Canvas Course early.
Instructions:
There are two methods you could use: manually adding a link as a module item, or enabling the VitalSource LTI in the Course Navigation. Please note that either method may result in a duplicate link being automatically placed by our system. This will not cause any issues, and both links will function properly.
Method 1: Manually Add Module-Item Link
- In your Canvas course, select the Modules link in the Course Navigation.
- Choose the odule where you’d like to add the Inclusive Access link. It could be either your first module, with other items, or a brand new module you create just for the course materials link.
- Click the + button (Add Module Item) to the right of the module name.
- In drop-down menu, select External Tool.
- Select the VitalSource external tool and select it.
- Click "Add Item"
Method 2: Enable Vitalsource in Course Navigation Menu
- In your Canvas course, click on "Settings" in the Course Navigation Menu
- In Settings, Click on the "Navigation" Tab
- In the Second list of applications, find Vitalsource Course Materials.
- Next to the name of this app, click on the More Menu (3 dots) and select "enable" from the drop-down menu. Alternatively, you can drag the item up and drop it into the first list.
- Click "Save" at the bottom of the page.
Additional Information:
With either method, you may not see any material when you launch the application if your textbook adoption has not been finalized yet. For any questions about your adoption, direct them to iasupport@ecampus.com
