When would you use this?
When you are receiving an error on a Ricoh printer that states "The print data contains an Adobe font. If you want to continue printing then the font will be changed automatically. If however you want to print using the Adobe font, then reset job and use the PostScript option."
Instructions:
This error is caused by a wrong driver being associated with the printer on Mac computers. Typically this happens when the Ricoh printer has been replaced but the driver did not get updated on the computer trying to print to the new printer.
To check to see if the right driver is installed:
- Open System Settings
- Go to Printers & Scanners on the left hand menu

- Click the printer you are trying to print to and check the model of the printer. You can find this in the field labeled "Kind"

- Make sure the model listed in "Kind" matches the model of the printer you are trying to print to. If it does not match, you can install the correct drivers using this website: https://www.ricoh-usa.com/en/support-and-download
- To install new drivers, search the model of the printer you are trying to print to, then in the search results click Drivers.
- On the page it brings you to, agree to the terms and conditions and then select the OS version you would like to download the drivers for. Ignore the drop down at the top of the page, scroll down a little and choose Windows or Mac OS and then choose what version you are using. Once you click your OS version, a download link will show up. Click Download and then install the new drivers.
- Once the new drivers are installed, set up the printer on the Mac again like normal and try to test print. The Adobe fonts error should not show up now.
