Folio (AKA Portfolium, Canvas Student ePortfolios) will be sunset on June 30, 2026. A new, native Canvas Portfolio solution (hereafter referred to as Portfolio) is available in Canvas now. Users who have already created portfolios on the Portfolium network will no longer be able to access them after June 30.
What do Instructors Need to Know?
- Instructors who have directed students to use Folio/Portfolium should phase out the use of this product for student projects/course activities as soon as possible
- Instructors who are currently seeking a portfolio solution for student projects should NOT consider using Folio/Portfolium. Any new student portfolio-based projects should be hosted on a different platform that will provide more long-term access. One option is a brand-new native portfolio solution available in Canvas now. Please contact the Education Technology Office (eto@framingham.edu) to discuss options.
- Students who have created portfolios on the Portfolium network in the past will see a banner message announcing this change when they attempt to access their portfolios, between January 28, 2026 and the sunset date of June 30, 2026. They will be directed to instructions for exporting their content.
