Description or Overview

Information Technology can troubleshoot and repair hardware components or peripherals on most university-owned devices under warranty.

Hardware issues may include:

  • Monitors flickering or not displaying
  • Broken parts (screens, trackpads, cases)
  • Beeps or blinking lights
  • Unusual or weird noises
  • Overheating
  • Won't turn on

Common issue descriptions:

  • My computer is beeping and won't turn on.
  • My laptop is making a weird sound.
  • The monitor has strange lines across it.
  • I dropped my laptop and it's chipped.

For laptops that have batteries with low or no life left in them, the purchase of a new battery will be responsibility of the owning department after the first year of the warranty. 

 

Eligibility

This service is available to all university

  • faculty
  • staff
  • students

For student support, we can repair university recommended systems for you or you can go straight to Dell. For all other personally owned devices ITS can help to identify issues but can not physically repair or order repairs for machines.
