How to activate or set up my password

When would you use this?

If you are a new student and need to set your password for your FSU accounts. If you have accessed your account and need to reset your password, you would go through the same process.

Instructions:

To activate your account or reset your password, go to http://password.framingham.edu to use the Password Reset Tool. This will reset your password for all of your FSU accounts.

First-time logins and forgotten passwords:

  1. Choose “Activate Account/Reset Password".
  2. Type in your username and click “Change". Typically your username is the first initial of your first name and last name, for example jsmith for John Smith. There may also be a number after your last name. Please refer to your welcome letter to find your username.
  3. Fill in the answers (new password, legal first name, date of birth, and last four digits of your Social Security Number) and click “Change". See below for specifics regarding these categories.
  • The new password you create must be at least 8 characters long, have at least one capital letter, and at least one number or symbol.  Also, it cannot be the same as a password you have previously used.
  • Capitalize the first letter of your first name (e.g. Erica).
  • Enter your birthday in the six-digit format MMDDYY (YY is the last two digits of your birth year [e.g. 072415]). If you successfully reset your password, the screen will say “Successful” in green letters next to a green check mark.

To ensure that the password reset was successful, please go to MyFramingham (https://my.framingham.edu) and log in with your username and new password.
