Import a template module from Canvas Commons

When would you use this?

ETO has made template modules available to import into your courses on demand. These include an orientation module (Welcome: Start Here) with template pages and resources for students, as well as a structure for a weekly module (Week 1: [Title or Theme Here]). The following instructions allow you to preview these modules before you decide to import them into your Canvas course site.

Instructions:

1. Click on "Commons" from the global menu on the left
2. Select the specific module you want to import (Week 1 vs Welcome: Start Here). If you don't see the content you are looking for, use the search bar, and also check whether there are filters applied.
3. Preview the module and then select the blue button: "Import/Download"
4. Select the course you want to import the content into and then click "Import into Course"

Please be aware that the process may take time to complete. Be patient and check back later to verify that the import was completed. You will find the module(s) in the Modules area of the course.
