ETO provides support for learning analytics and assessment technologies to measure student learning outcomes. Examples include collecting data for program accreditation or analysis of student engagement and/or academic progress within a course. Supported tools for data collection include Canvas Outcomes, Qualtrics, Canvas New Analytics, and Impact (including Impact Course Reports). Limited support may be available for other data collection and/or analysis tools.
Assessment projects require significant input and time commitment on the part of the sponsoring department and/or individual.
To make an initial request for assistance on an assessment project, complete this form: Request Assistance with Assessment
Considerations
- Sponsoring department and/or individual is responsible for developing assessment criteria (standards, outcomes, goals, etc), and performing data collection
- Request must be made at least 6-8 weeks before data reporting is scheduled to begin.
- Initial consultation with ETO required - to be scheduled after request is received
- Identify at least one designated representative who will serve as project manager. This individual should expect to meet with ETO between 2 and 5 times. Identify other individuals who will support this process such as department administrative assistants.
