When to use:
If you're getting an "invalid file type submission" error when trying to upload a file from the web version of Word or Onedrive follow the steps below:
1. Open the file in OneDrive or the web version of Word. Click on "File" and then the ellipses at the bottom of the menu options
2. Select "Save As"
3. Select "Download a Copy" to download a copy of the file to your computer. The file will be downloaded (usually to your "Downloads" folder)
4. Head back to your assignment on Canvas and select "File Upload" and "Choose File." Select the file you just downloaded.
5. If successful, you'll see a confirmation page.
