Introduction
Instructure (Canvas) is offering a free course designed to guide all Canvas educators in making their learning content accessible to every student. This course is available through the Training Services Portal, which can be found in the Canvas "Help and Information Menu".
The course will take about 1 hour to complete and there is an opportunity to earn a digital badge upon completion.
Instructions
- Log into Canvas
- Click on "Help and Info" at the bottom of the Global Navigation Menu (far left)

- In the flyout menu that opens, select "Training Services Portal"

- You will be asked to authorize the Training Services app. Click "Authorize." You will only need to do this once, unless you clear your cache between sessions.

- In the new window that opens, you should see a few courses listed (just 3 or 4). Scroll down to find "Fundamentals of Accessible Digital Content in Canvas". Note: if you do not see the screen shown below, click on "Training Portal LTI" in the Global Navigation Menu

- Click "Enroll Now"
Additional Information
- If you do not complete the course in one sitting, you can return to it, following the steps above. When you return to the Training Services Portal, you will see "Continue" under the name of the course, instead of "Enroll Now." Alternatively, once enrolled, you can find your course listed in the "Courses" area of the Global Navigation Menu.
- In this course, users will find occasional references to "Canvas Studio," a video management solution not available at FSU. However, our current video management solution, Panopto Video, offers the same accessibility features including the ability to add easily add captions to all videos.
- For additional help, refer to this guide with steps for accessing the On-Demand Training Portal.
