Require Students to Use Lockdown Browser for Cengage Mindtap Assignment/Exam

Initial Setup

The instructions below assume that you have already set up an LMS-Integrated Mindtap Course and created the Mindtap activity (Assignment, Exam, etc) that will be used for this Canvas Quiz.

It is also assumed that you have already enabled Lockdown Browser in your Course Navigation menu. For instructions on how to do that, see How do I manage Course Navigation links?

Additional Info

This process would work for any type of course or external link that you would want students to have access to during an LDB session.

The documentation from Cengage states that the process will not work for Canvas New Quizzes, but that is no longer accurate.

There are some publisher courseware platforms that have direct integrations with Lockdown Browser, eliminating the need for a Canvas Quiz (test-taker could even bypass navigating through Canvas altogether). This includes the WebAssign product from Cengage, but not Mindtap. Other platforms offering direct integrations include McGraw Hill ALEKS, Hawkes Learning, and Pearson MyLab.
