When would you use this?
You need to register your game console to the FSU_Guest network using the 12-digit wireless MAC address.
Instructions:
Most gaming devices will have their wireless MAC address in their Network settings or physically printed on the device. When registering your device, please ensure that you are using the wireless MAC address and not the one for wired connections. You must also connect to the FSU_Guest network rather than the FSU_Wireless network.
Choose your device:
- Xbox One
- Xbox Series S or X
- Playstation 4
- Playstation 5
- Nintendo Switch
- Steam Deck
- Navigate to My Xbox
- Select Settings
- Select Network
- Select Advanced Settings
- The MAC address will be displayed on the right-hand side of the screen
If you are setting up the console for the first time, it will require an internet connection before you can access the system settings to find the MAC address. There is a work around to finding the MAC address of the console without connecting to the internet:
- When prompted to add a wireless network, choose a network and it will fail to connect
- It will bring you to a troubleshooting page
- Select "That didn't work"
- It may not display the MAC address the first time you choose this option, but it should the second time you select "That didn't work"
- The MAC address should now be displayed
- Press the Xbox button on your controller
- Select Profile & System
- Navigate to Settings
- In the General tab, select Network settings
- In the "Set up wireless network" tab, select Advanced settings
- The wireless and wired MAC addresses will be displayed in the panel to the right under the "IP settings" tab

- Select System, you will have to scroll down towards the bottom of the menu.
- Select System Information.
- The MAC addresses should be displayed, for the wireless network please use "MAC Address (Wi-Fi)"
- From the home screen, select Settings (the gear icon in the upper-right).
- Select System.
- Select Console Information.
- The MAC address should display at the bottom of the list, please use the wireless MAC address "MAC Address (Wi-Fi)"
- On the home menu, go to System Settings
- On the left side, select Internet
- The MAC Address is displayed under System MAC Address
- Select Internet > Other Network and locate the Wireless MAC address at the bottom of the page
- If you are in Gaming mode, select Internet > Info and the MAC address will be at the bottom of the page
