How can I download Microsoft Office 365 on my personal computer?

Office 365 comes with employee and student home use benefits. Using the Office 365 portal, employees and students can download Office applications on up to five personally owned devices for free. 

When would you use this?

Microsoft Office is a program commonly used in classes. Follow the instructions below to install Microsoft Office for free on your personal computer.

If you are a faculty or staff member with an FSU-owned computer, please consult with IT for assistance. 

Instructions:

  1. Sign into https://office.com with your FSU email account
  2. Once signed in, there is an Install Office option towards the top right of the window
  3. Click the drop down and select Office 365 Apps
  4. This will download Office 365. Run the installer and follow the instructions that appear

Additional Information:

The software will check in automatically to make sure you are still an active Framingham State student/faculty/staff member. If you aren't able to log in for 30 days (for example, if you are not connected to the Internet), the software will operate in read-only mode. You must connect to the Internet and log in periodically to maintain your access. If you change your password, you may be asked to re-enter your password.
