Office 365 comes with employee and student home use benefits. Using the Office 365 portal employees and students can download Office applications on up to 5 personally owned devices for free.
When would you use this?
Microsoft Office is a common program used in classes. Follow the instructions below to install Microsoft Office for free on your personal computer.
If you are a faculty or staff member with an FSU owned computer, please consult with IT first.
Instructions:
- Sign into https://office.com with your FSU email account
- Once signed in, there is an "Install Office" option towards the top right of the window
- Click the drop down and select "Office 365 Apps"
- This will download Office 365. Run the installer and follow the instructions that appear

Additional Information:
The software will check in automatically to make sure you are still an active Framingham State student/faculty/staff member. If you aren't able to log in for 30 days (for example, if you are not connected to the Internet), the software will operate in read-only mode. You must connect to the Internet and log in periodically to maintain your access. If you change your password, you may be asked to re-enter your password.
