Two-factor authentication for FSU VPN

FortiToken setup:

Framingham State University requires two-factor authentication for each user to log into our remote access VPN client (forticlient).  This requires each VPN users to have a one time use code to input after they have entered their password.

There are currently two options to obtain this code:
1.Download and install a smart phone app that provides this code
2.Obtain a keychain fob from the ITS department

Option 1:  Smart Phone Application
a.Navigate on your smart phone to the store application (ex. iTunes, Google Play etc.)
b.Search for the “Fortitoken” app
c.Download this application
d.Open the application and select “Scan Bar Code”
e.ITS will have sent you an E-Mail with a QR code that you can now scan with the app
f.The application should now look similar to below:

Upon logging into the Forticlient VPN on your laptop/tablet you will need to input your FSU campus password.  Once that is accepted an additional box will appear and ask for the six-digit code from the FortiToken app.  This code changes every 60 seconds.

Option 2:  Keychain fob
If you prefer not to use a smart phone, then a fob can be obtained from ITS.  The device looks like the image below:

Select the gray button on the left to get a similar six-digit code.  This code will also cycle every 60 seconds.
