Sharing Documents in Microsoft Teams

When would you use this?

When sending documents in Microsoft Teams.

Instructions:

For Chats:

To share a file in a Teams chat, click the paperclip icon in the icons bar under where you would type a message. Afterwards, click the file you would like to upload.

You have now attached your document and it is ready to send! By default, the attachment is set as "Anyone with the link can view."

If you would like to make your shared documents editable, click where it says "Anyone with the link can view." A new menu will pop-up with more options.

Check the box in this menu that says "Allow editing". This will ensure that whoever you are chatting with will be able to edit the document being sent.

For Teams:

To send a document in a Team, follow the same steps above. When shared within a Team, anyone can edit the document in said Team by default. The option to change "Anyone with the link can view" is not available within a Team.
