Slate

Slate, a comprehensive higher education CRM offered by Technolutions, is owned and managed by Framingham State Admission's Office.  

Slate is an all-in-one platform that handles every aspect of our admissions offices:

  • Application Management

  • Reading Facilitation

  • Data Integrations with our SIS Banner, and various third party vendors such as CampusESP, Powerfaids, EAB, FrontRush and more.

Permissions in Slate

Setting

Description

Application Decide

Add, Confirm, Assign Letters, and Release decisions individually from the application record. Also grants access to Decision Management if the user has read access for a query.

Application Lookup

Grants read access to view all data on an application tab within the student record.

Application Lookup (Active Period Only)

Grants read access to view all data on an application tab within the student record if the application is associated with an active application period.

Application Review Forms

Grants access to view an application's submitted review forms.

Application Update

Grants write access to application data, including updating the application round, application-scoped fields, submission status, activities, and checklist items.

Application Update (Impersonate)

Grants access to impersonate an application record. Impersonation also requires the Application Update and Person Update permissions.

Audit Log

Grants access to view the Audit Log for a student record.

Batch Acquire

Grants access to upload documents and associate them with a record within Batch Acquire.

Bin Management

Grants access to the Bin Management tool to batch assign reader bins and queues for applications included in a query. The user must also have read access to the query.

Consolidate Records

Grants full access to the Consolidate Records tool, including the compare tool and the ability to merge records that appear as potential matches.

Custom SQL

Grants the ability to view and edit the SQL tab within the Form Builder; create and edit custom SQL queries; create and edit individual custom SQL exports and filters in the Query Builder tool.

Database

Grants access to all Database items; Ping; Decision Letters; Application Editor; Standard Query Library.

Dataset Lookup 

Grants read access to dataset record data.

Dataset Update 

Grants write access to dataset record data.

Deliver

Create Deliver messages and edit Deliver messages associated with the user account; Grants access to the Email Gateway Inbox to view emails sent by this user.

Deliver (edit all users)

Create Deliver messages and edit any Deliver message, regardless of the user; Grants access to the SMS Inbox and the Email Gateway Inbox to view messages sent by any user. 

Deliver (send)

Send or stop Deliver messages.

Events

Create events, access and edit events associated with the user account.

Events (edit all users)

Create events, access and edit any event, regardless of the user.

Forms

Create forms, access and edit forms associated with the user account.

Forms (edit all users)

Create forms, access and edit forms, regardless of the user.

File Editor

Grants access to the File Editor.

Financial Aid

Grants access to the Financial Aid checklist and the Financial Aid query folder.

Giving Lookup

Grants read access to the Giving tab. Slate for Advancement only.

Giving Update

Grants write access to the Giving tab. Slate for Advancement only.

Giving Update - Change Gifts

Grants the ability to edit a gift without requiring a reversal. Slate for Advancement only.

Giving Update - Opportunities

Grants the ability to create and update Opportunities. Slate for Advancement only.

Import

Grants access to import files using Upload Dataset.

Inbox

Grants access to Message Inbox.

Interactions

Grants access to add and update Interactions on the Timeline tab of the person record.

Interviews

Create interview slots, access and edit interviews associated with the user account.

Interviews (edit all users)

Create interview slots, access and edit any interview, regardless of the user.

Payment History

Grants access to the Payment History page.

Payment Interactions

Grants write access to Payment activities/interactions.

Person Lookup

Grants read access to view a student record.

Person Lookup (Active Only)

Grants read access to view a student record that is configured as Active.

Person Update

Grants write access to person data, including the ability to update biographical data, interactions, and person-scoped fields.

Person Update (Verified Scores) 

Grants write access to create and edit verified test scores.

Portal Editor

Grants access to the Portal Editor.

Projects

Grants access to Project.

Query

Create queries and run or edit queries associated with the user account.

Query (edit all users)

Create queries and run or edit any query, regardless of the user.

Query (Slate Template Library)

Grants access to Export and Filter resources in the Slate Template Library while using the Query Builder.

Query (System Folder)

Grants access to queries in the System folder.

Reader

Grants access to the Reader.

Reader Classify

Grants access to Classify within the Reader.

Refund Maestro Payments

Refund payments made using Maestro within 60 days of the transaction.

Relationship Lookup

Grants access to view relationship data on a person record.

Relationship Update

Grants write access to create and edit relationship data on a person record.

Release Decisions

Grants access to the Release Decisions module - including the ability to confirm decisions, assign letters, and release decisions in batch.

Rules Editor

Grants access to the Rules Editor.

Service Desk Forums

View the Technolutions Forums, including the Feature Requests Forum, Slate Scholar, and Slate TV.

Service Desk Requests

View service desk requests associated with your institution. *Only Slate Captains

After submission, the form will be sent to your supervisor for approval.  Once approved, it will be sent to the Slate Security Administrator in Admissions for processing.  Questions regarding your Slate access should be directed to admissionsprocessing@framingham.edu

Information Technology Services (ITS) offers limited support for decentralized enrollment management systems within the University (a.k.a. “departmental systems”) that are not part of the student information system (a.k.a. Banner). These systems, primarily managed by administrative offices, facilitate communications, process support, decision making, and online services associated with enrollment management functions such as; admissions, financial aid, orientation, academic advising, student success, athletics, career services, and alumni relations. Whether hosted locally within the University’s data center or in the cloud, ITS primarily provides essential technological infrastructure (e.g., network connectivity), varying levels of integration, basic troubleshooting, and security oversight. Responsibility for more comprehensive support for the management and day-to-day administration of these departmental systems typically resides within an administrative office outside of ITS.
