Updating your "Canvas-Getting Started" Page

Why Would You Update Your Page?

Since Canvas moved their videos off of Vimeo, the "Canvas-Getting Started" page included in our Welcome-Start Here module has been updated to include these new links. If you downloaded the module before this update, the page in your courses may have broken links. Importing this page will let you update these links without overwriting your customized content from the rest of the "Welcome-Start Here" module.

Instructions:

To update your "Canvas-Getting Started" page, head to Canvas Commons by clicking on the "Commons" link from the left-hand menu in Canvas.

Click the  "Import/Download" button on the right of the page and select the courses to which you'd like to import the content.

Note: If you already have the "Welcome-Start Here" module in your course, this will automatically replace the page in the existing module if you have not changed any of the titles. If the page in your course does not get replaced, you should head to your "Welcome-Start Here" module and add a new page. The second "Canvas: Getting Started" page listed will be the new one. You can then delete the old page from your course.

If you don't have the "Welcome-Start Here" module, the entire module, including updated video links, can be found on Canvas Commons and imported using the same procedure.
