Reminder: Panopto Retention Policy
Attention longtime Panopto users! In Spring 2023, our official retention policy for Panopto videos was announced, and has been in effect since then. In short, the retention policy stipulates: 1) Videos that have not been watched for five years will be archived and 2) Videos that have not been watched for seven years will be deleted. Importantly, the retention policy clock for a video continues running when it is placed in archive, and will be permanently deleted when it reaches 7 years with no views. In recent weeks, some videos that were previously archived have begun to be permanently deleted.
