How to Install the Self Self Service Printer in WL 217

 

When would you use this?

When you are trying to print from the self service printer in the Whittemore Library room 217.

Instructions:

PC 

  1. Search \\printsrv in your search bar​​​​​​ and hit enter.

  1. This will bring up a list of all the printers on campus. Look for WL217KM958 and double click it to add it. 
  2. If you see an empty print queue pop up, you have successfully added the printer!

Mac 

  1. Go to bit.ly/PS_SelfServe 
  2. Scroll down until you see your MacOS version. In this example, we're using Sonoma.
  3. Select the newest version of the "958.... .zip" file.
    Please note: if you have any OS versions older than Sonoma, please look for the newest version of the driver labeled "....letter.zip"
  4. The file should automatically save to your Downloads folder. Navigate to your Downloads folder in Finder, and double click the zip file to unzip it. 
  5. Once the file is unzipped, navigate to 958_658e_558_368_367_Series_MacOS_v11.9.0A OS_11_x Letter 
  6. Double click the .pkg file in that folder to begin the installation process. 
  7. Keep clicking Continue through the prompts, and click Agree when prompted to agree to the terms and conditions. 
  8. When prompted, enter your computer password to allow the software to be installed. 
  9. Click Close on the summary screen.
  10. Next, add the printer. To do this, go to Settings and scroll down to the bottom of the left menu.
  11. Click Printers and Scanners​​​​​​​.
  12. Click Add Printer, Scanner or Fax.
  13. Click IP and enter the following information: 
    1. In IP enter: 10.3.250.107
    2. In Protocol make sure it's set to LPD
    3. In Queue type print
  14. Then click on the bottom drop-down list listed as “Use”.​​​​​​​
  15. Choose “Select Software…”
  16. Type “Konica” in the search to bring up the Konica Minolta Drivers and select the “Konica Minolta 958 PS” option.
  17. Click the Add button.
  18. Select the following options: 
    1. Paper Source Unit: “LU-303
    2. Finisher: “FS-537
    3. Punch Unit: “PK-523 (2/3 Hole)
  19. Click OK.
  20. Setup is now complete! 
  21. To print to this printer and add your department code: 
    1. Select File ⇒ Print
    2. Choose the WL217 Self-Serve (or however you named the printer).​​​​​​​
    3. Click on the Printer… button. (Specific to Acrobat and similar programs).
    4. Click Yes if prompted. 

    5. Click the Printer Options drop down and then click the next to Output Method.

    6. Check Account Track in the window that pops up.

    7. Enter your department Org Code (e.g. A123 – capital letter required) into the Password field only. You may also check the Save Settings option. 

    8. Click on the Preset drop-down list and select Save Current Settings as Preset. Name the preset and click OK. You can easily use this preset to enter the code in any program. 

    9. ​​​​​​​You are now able to change the quantity and other print settings for your document. Once you are ready, press the Print button and your job will be sent to the printer.
