Term dates ("Term Runs from..") get set automatically when new terms are added to Canvas. By default, they are set to the exact dates of the first and last day of classes, with arbitrary start times (ex: 8:09am). They must be adjusted manually by a Canvas Admin (Account Navigation>Terms).
Protocols for Term Dates (as of 12/09/2024):
- Term Runs from: Whenever to [a few weeks after actual term end]
- Students Can Access From: Whenever to term end
- Teachers Can access from: Whenever to [a few days after Incomplete deadline*]
*Incomplete Deadline: the deadline for which students must submit Incomplete work, as stipulated in the University Incomplete Grade Policy: no later the end of spring break for fall and wintersession courses, September 1st for spring courses and October 1st for summer courses.
