More Information
-
If you choose "Specific Content" instead of All Content in Step 5, you must click Import (Step 6), and THEN you will get the option to select the content you want. TIP: Many instructors choose not to import Announcements, because the announcements may not be relevant to the new course.
-
It is not possible to "undo" a course copy, so please be careful. Check that you are in the right course shell, and that the shell really is empty before doing a course copy. The only way to remove imported content is to do it manually, one item at a time, or to do a complete course reset. Email eto@framingham.edu to request a course reset.
-
For more information about automatically adjusting due dates, see How do I adjust events and due dates in a course import?. Even if you do not adjust due dates at the time of import, you can avoid having to change the due date of each assignment one by one. See: How do I bulk update due dates and availability dates as an instructor?
- If you would like to copy just one or two items from one course to another, you can use the direct copy tool to copy single Modules, Module items, Announcements, Assignments, Quizzes, Pages, Discussions, and more, from one course to another, one at a time.
- Lockdown Browser users: if you had configured quizzes in your original course to require Lockdown Browser, those settings will NOT be reflected in the course copy. The quiz itself will copy over, and the words “Requires Lockdown Browser” will appear in the quiz title, but the quiz will not actually be configured to require Lockdown Browser. The instructor must reset the configuration for Lockdown Browser as described here: Faculty and Instructor use of LockDown Browser in Canvas. Please note: this bug seems to only affect New Quizzes (not Classic Quizzes)
