Sharing a link to your Panopto Video (for Discussion Boards, Assignments, etc)

Summary

This article details how to create and copy a link to a Panopto video, and discusses how to select an appropriate audience.

Body

  • To share a Panopto video with a link, hover over the video you're looking to share, and click the "share" button (circled in the screenshot below)

  • After selecting "Share" you should select an audience for the video by clicking the link under "Who Can Access This Video."

  • To share with a select group (like a class), select either:
    • "Restricted" if you only want your classmates/instructor to access the video
    • "Your Organization (unlisted)" if you only want people with an FSU login to access the video
    • or "Public (unlisted)" if you want anyone with the link to see the video. 

Note that if you choose "Your Oganization" or "Public" without the (unlisted) modifier, your video will be available to everyone via Panopto's homepage.

  • Once you've selected the audience, click on the "Copy Link" button at the bottom of the menu and you'll be able to paste it where needed.
