How to clear the cache in your browser

Clearing your browser cache

The keyboard shortcut to clear cache for all browsers is by holding down Ctrl+Shift-Delete while inside the browser window. Choose All Time for the time period.

Below are the menu steps for each browser.

In Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click the Menu at far right of the browser window represented by 3 dots. 


  1. Click More tools Clear browsing data

  1. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
  2. Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.
  3. Click Clear data.


In Firefox

  1. Click the menu button and select Options.
  2. Select the Advanced panel.
  3. Click on the Network tab.
  4. In the Cached Web Content section, click Clear Now.


  1. Close the about:preferences page. Any changes you've made will automatically be saved.


In Internet Explorer 


  1. Select Tools (via the Gear Icon) > Safety > Delete browsing history....

NOTE: You can also access this menu by holding Ctrl + Shift + Delete


  1. Make sure to uncheck Preserve Favorites website data and check both Temporary Internet Files and Cookies then click Delete


  1. You will get a confirmation at the bottom of the window once it has successfully cleared your cache and cookies. 




  1. Open the Chrome app on your device.
  2. Tap the three-dot icon, found at the top right, to open a dropdown menu.
  3. Tap History, then Clear browsing data. 
  4. Select All time using the Time Range dropdown menu.
  5. Tap Clear Data


iphone or ipad

  1. Open Settings, and scroll down to the fifth group of options (starting with Passwords & Accounts). Tap Safari.
  2. Scroll down and tap 'Clear History and Website Data'.
  3. In the popup, tap 'Clear History and Data' to confirm.
