When would you use this?

You have a new computer and need to set up your printers or you need to print to a new printer not currently mapped on your computer.

Instructions:

Faculty and staff members may print to the network printer(s) assigned to their department, the building copier or color printer.   You must know the name of the printer you want to connect to.

  1. Click Start in the lower left corner of your screen.
  2. Type \\printsrv in the search bar
  3. Select the Enter Key.
  4. Choose your network printer from the list of options.

Windows will install the printer driver if necessary. If the printer is installed successfully it will appear on your list of available printers.
