Monitoring and Alert Management

Overview

The Monitoring and Alert Management service provided by the University's Information Technology Services (ITS) organization is designed to ensure the optimal performance, availability, and capacity of all IT service assets, including the underlying technological infrastructure. This comprehensive service includes monitoring of servers, storage, networks, applications, and other critical IT components to proactively identify and address potential issues, thereby ensuring the continuity and reliability of IT services.

 

Eligibility

Any department or entity that has a system or application that is hosted and managed by the Information Technology Services Department is eligible for this service.

Prerequisites
  • In order for Information Technology Services to provide routine monitoring and alerting services, the system or application will need to be hosted or managed by the Information Technology Services department.
  • Requests for monitoring or alerting services on any externally hosted or manage applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis for feasibility.
  • Any costs associated with implementing new monitoring or alerting services (such as setting up new software) will be the responsibility of the requesting department.

Fulfillment Target
